Industry's Only Multi-Tenant Desktop Virtualization Architecture Delivers Windows Desktops and Apps as a Cloud Service

Desktone, Inc., the pioneer of Desktops as a Service (DaaS), today announced it has been selected by Aeronomy, a leading private cloud solutions provider, to power its new DaaS offering. By partnering with Desktone, Aeronomy is addressing widespread demand for secure, reliable and high-performing virtual desktops and applications.

"Aeronomy has had great success helping small- and mid-sized businesses deploy and benefit from private cloud-hosted offerings. We're thrilled Aeronomy chose the Desktone Platform as the basis of its new DaaS service," said Peter McKay, CEO, Desktone. "By leveraging Desktone's multi-tenant desktop virtualization architecture, Aeronomy will be able to provide highly secure, dedicated and cost-effective virtual desktops, and easily meet growing demand."

"A lot of organizations are considering private cloud-based solutions because of data security and data privacy requirements as well as the flexibility they enable for mobile workforces," said Scott Bethke, CEO, Aeronomy. "We evaluated a number of desktop virtualization vendors, but Desktone's was the only technology that provided the performance, security and agility we need to deliver privates cloud-hosted services. Its multi-tenancy and grid-based architecture make it easy for us to build and scale a very compelling, competitively priced Aeronomy Workplace service."

DaaS has unique requirements--including massive scalability, resiliency and the ability to securely handle multiple geographies and tenants--which can't be met by porting traditional virtual desktop technologies to the cloud. Desktone's DaaS technology was built from the ground up for cloud delivery and Service Providers. Unlike Citrix and VMware approaches, Desktone employs true multi-tenancy, which enables superior security. Desktone's multi-tenancy delivers a shared, unified platform for all end-customers, with dedicated desktops and completely secure separation across five critical levels: meta-data, storage, networking, directory services and compute. The Desktone Platform supports all versions of desktop models from full Windows VDI to shared RDS sessions and application delivery from one unified console.
