Pre-Sales System Engineer - Dallas

ExaGrid provides a cost effective and scalable disk-based backup solution that works with existing backup applications. ExaGrid combines high quality SATA storage, compression and data de-duplication for fast and reliable backups and restores. ExaGrid's innovative approach minimizes the amount of data to be stored by providing standard data compression for the most recent backups, along with byte-level data de-duplication for all previous backups. ExaGrid's byte-level data de-duplication technology stores changes from backup to backup instead of storing full file copies. This unique approach reduces the disk space required by at least 20 to 1, delivering unparalleled cost savings and performance at 25% the cost of standard SATA storage. ExaGrid targets the mid market and small enterprise companies, focusing on senior-level corporate IT. Founded in 2002, ExaGrid Systems is a privately held company funded by some of the leading venture capital firms in North America. Our corporate headquarters are located in Westborough, Massachusetts.
 
ExaGrid is seeking an experienced, hands-on PreSales Systems Engineer to assist in the presales process by providing viable and compelling solutions to our customers. This position is based in the Dallas area. Utilizing relevant, consultative technical sales techniques the Systems Engineer will:
• Assist customers with the design and configuration of ExaGrid Systems products.
• Deliver online or in person technical product demonstrations.
• Deliver product technical & operational training to ExaGrid partners.
• Respond to prospect inquiries by phone or email
• Train new staff on the ExaGrid product
• Assist sales team in responding to RFP's or answering technical questions customer or prospects may have.
• Develop an understanding of the customer's business objectives in order to map a strategy consisting of software, training, and implementation as a solution to those business objectives.
 
 

Qualifications:

 
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Systems Engineer supporting the sale of software / hardware solutions to IT operations groups through direct and channel sales strategies
• Strong experience in providing systems configuration, product training, demo and sales support directly to prospects, customers and channel partners.
• Highly knowledgeable of technologies, industry trends, operation and support of back up products, data protection products or storage products.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Previous Systems Engineer experience at an early stage company.
• Enterprise IT focus for the mid-market.
• Experience with multiple operating systems including Windows, UNIX and Linux.
• Ability to travel 25% to 30% of time.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or Technology preferred (or equivalent work experience).
