Hangout Industries is creating a next generation, online social entertainment platform that creates virtual spaces online so that teens can hangout with their friends. Think Facebook meets the Sims, where users can create and customize avatars and virtual rooms using real branded content. Inside these rooms they can hangout with their friends from their social network around social events wearing real products like threadless tshirts, vans shoes, gossip girl clothes and zappos shoes. They can then show off the virtual goods they had acquired to their friends and promote and donate to charities -- all of this is done in a browser, all secure and leveraging the web as its content engine. Hangout wants to leverage the viral marketing channel to grow in the most cost effective way possible. Numerous applications on Facebook have been wildly successful by deploying what is now called viral marketing tactics to get as many users using the application for almost no marketing spend. This has occurred by paying careful attention to the way in which the application communicates to the outside world by way of invitations to join, updates on goings on in the application, etc. Your responsibilities will be to understand which tactics work and which don't, stay current on all of the changes happening in Facebook and implement and communicate those learnings daily, if necessary, to the Hangout product team to ensure that the Hangout online application is as viral as possible. Job Description: This is an entry level marketing analyst job whose focus is to understand and communicate to the product team the viral marketing tactics that work inside Facebook among the most successful casual games and Facebook apps. This position has a lot of room for growth. Accordingly, we’re looking for an highly ambitious individual who is very motivated, passionate who is looking forward to immersing her/himself, ready to quickly adapt and learn, and has a ‘do what it takes to get it done’ attitude. This is not your typical 9-5 job with a lot of structure and formalities. Someone who is pro-active, can work independently with general guidance and is excited about making waves in a small company is ideal. Responsibilities: • focus on understanding and continually deploying the latest viral marketing tactics that are used by the most successful casual games in the Facebook ecosystem. • work with the product team to bring the viral marketing learnings into Hangout's product design and direction • Perform user behavior, retention and monetization analysis • Be able to translate the findings of the analysis into actionable recommendations • Work closely with the CEO and the VP of Product Development • Will learn the latest in viral marketing and A/B testing techniques to ensure Hangout acquires online users at the most cost effective manner

Qualifications:

Skills: • Highly quantitative and demonstrate that in his/her college work and performance • Willing to focus on minute details • Must have good pattern recognition skills to learn what works and does not work in the successful casual games market • Must enjoy playing casual games and have familiarty with them • Must enjoy understanding how stuff works, have strong curiosity and desire to learn • Must be willing to eat/sleep and breathe Facebook structural dynamics. Background • Preferably a degree in engineering or quantitative programs or demonstrated ability to be very analytic. • Good communications skills. • Advanced knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of MySQL database querying for report generation is STRONGLY preferred.
