Chelmsford, MA and Atlanta, GA – February 17, 2009 – Desktone, Inc., provider of the first solution that enables virtual desktops as an outsourced subscription service, and vmSight, the leader in end user experience assurance for virtual desktops and applications, today announced a new partnership between the two companies. Through the agreement, vmSight will enable end-to-end monitoring of virtual desktops in Desktone desktops as a service (DaaS) environments, making it easier for service providers to ensure service level targets for enterprise customers.
The partnership opportunity became apparent after several service providers brought the Desktone and vmSight technologies together to enhance their DaaS offerings. Now, Desktone DaaS providers can get full visibility into user and application activity on virtualized desktops, so they can monitor all parts of the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) – from the access device to back-end servers and storage – allowing them to more easily spot and diagnose VDI performance problems and ensure service levels for their customers. In addition, enterprise administrators can easily track and validate the service levels of their outsourced virtual desktops.
"We've been quite successful in helping enterprises proactively monitor and control end user experience and application performance for their own VDI environments," said Jonathan Alexander, president and co-founder of vmSight. "With Desktone-based DaaS gaining momentum as a VDI delivery solution, it was a natural fit for us to extend our technology into this environment so that all constituents – service providers, enterprise admins and end users – can benefit from the high level of visibility and control that vmSight affords."
The joint Desktone/vmSight solution is available through select Desktone DaaS service provider partners.
