WePay API Brings Rich Payments Functionality to Formstack Online Form Building Platform; Growing List of Sites Connect to WePay’s Platform to Help People Collect Money Online
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- December 14, 2010 -- WePay, the online payment service that makes it easy for people to collect money online, today announced integration with Formstack, the easy-to-use online form builder. By connecting to the WePay service, Formstack users are able to start collecting payments without leaving the site; for example, organizations can now use Formstack to collect member information and use WePay to collect dues in a single seamless experience.
Formstack is one of a number of companies and Web sites to use WePay's API to offer their users an easy way to collect payment. Other recent WePay partners include group management service GroupSpaces; Greek organization management site WebGreek; student/campus life management site CampusLIVE; and simple donations Web site EverRibbon.
"Organizations use Formstack to collect data online in a variety of ways," said Chris Lucas, director of marketing, Formstack. "The WePay integration gives our customers another simple, secure way to accept payments through any of their online forms."
Collecting payments with WePay through Formstack is easy: Formstack users simply create a form and then select WePay as the third-party integration option under settings. Users can then connect an existing WePay account or create one from scratch with just their email address and a single click. Once complete, Formstack users can collect information and payments using the forms they have built.
Funds collected are deposited into an FDIC-insured account created for that form and are just as easy to manage and access as funds collected directly through the WePay site. For more information on how to use WePay's online payment services on Formstack, please visit www.formstack.com/wepay.html.
"We are continuously looking for smart services that understand the value of a simple, transparent payments platform, and Formstack is an outstanding partner for us," said Bill Clerico, cofounder and CEO, WePay. "Our API offers a rich, intuitive payments platform for users, and together with Formstack's easy-to-use service, we are able to help people collect information from group members, event participants, registrants and more."
WePay's API is a simple OAuth-authenticated REST-based API with JSON responses, allowing developers to add payment functionality to their Web sites without dealing with all the messy complications of building a payment solution in-house.
WePay makes it easy to collect money online by selling tickets, requesting payment (sending bills) or accepting donations. It also allows users to establish separate accounts for different purposes, such as one account for a baby shower and another for a class reunion. WePay charges a 3.5% transaction fee or a 50¢ transaction fee, depending on whether users accept credit card payments or just bank account payments.
