Corey opened Highland’s Menlo Park office to source, evaluate and pursue West Coast-based investment opportunities across all of Highland’s targeted sectors.
Corey serves on the boards of AccentCare, Archemix, BAROnova, Entourage, Fidelis, Gigamon, MokaFive, OpGen, Pharmaca and Yoga Works, and has been involved with Conor Medsystems (IPO; acquired by Johnson & Johnson), Helicos BioSciences (Nasdaq: HLCS), Hyperion Therapeutics, NextCard (IPO), NuGenesis Technologies (acquired by Waters Corporation), Pervasis Therapeutics, Telcobuy.com (merged with World Wide Technology), Turbine and US Labs (acquired by LabCorp).
Background
Prior to joining Highland in June of 1997 as a Principal, Corey worked in corporate development with ONI Systems (IPO; acquired by CIENA), a San Jose-based optical networking equipment vendor. Previously, Corey worked in the investment banking group Robertson Stephens & Company and had been a Senior Associate at Highland. He began his career with The Whitman Group.
