Show How Desktops as a Service Help Companies Embrace Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Desktone, Inc., the pioneer of Desktops as a Service (DaaS), today announced it will join Nike, Inc. as a featured speaker at NaviCloud Expo, April 11 - 12, 2013 in Charlotte, N.C. The companies will explore how businesses are leveraging cloud-hosted virtual desktops to transform the way they operate in, “Enabling a Radically Different Organization through Technology.”

During the session, Nike will share its experience in using NaviCloud ONE, a DaaS service powered by the Desktone platform, to provide employees flexible work environments and on-demand availability of corporate data and applications. Desktone will discuss how businesses are using DaaS to enable BYOD by giving workers secure, reliable, anywhere access to company data from their personal devices.

“Consumer technology, and BYOD in particular, is infiltrating business, and the impact on IT is dramatic. Employees are demanding flexible work environments and ready access to corporate data and applications. On the other hand, IT leaders are concerned about potential security threats from personal devices accessing corporate networks and data, and they’re struggling with how to manage all those devices and ensure business continuity when devices break down or get lost. These needs are driving interest in on-site VDI, but for many businesses, it’s just too costly and complex,” said David Grant, VP of Marketing, Desktone. “I’m excited to join Nike and NaviSite in discussing how DaaS makes it easy for companies to embrace BYOD while ensuring data security, preserving worker productivity, and totally simplifying IT management.”

“Enabling a Radically Different Organization through Technology” takes place April 12, 2103 at 10:30am at the Ritz Carlton in Charlotte, N.C. NaviCloud Expo ’13, which is being keynoted by James Staten, Vice President, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research, is a premier cloud conference for businesses wanting to leverage the latest in cloud technology for innovation, agility and growth.
