: The Grassroots Marketing Coordinator identifies and cultivates regional and local grassroots marketing, as well as partnership marketing opportunities to drive awareness, traffic and ultimately revenue for City Sports. This position has a direct impact on the sales performance for each store, and therefore will be responsible for developing, implementing, and tracking specific marketing programs initiated as a stand-alone event or as part of an integrated campaign. Must have the strong organizational, time management and attention to detail skills necessary for event marketing. Must also be able to thrive in a fast-paced marketing environment.
Help City Sports meet organizational and Marketing team specific goals to strengthen the brand, drive customer traffic, and positively impact sales/revenue.
Partner, and work closely with both Store Managers and District Managers to identify all potential grassroots and local partnership marketing opportunities within the local (and sometimes regional) store DMA
Will cultivate new business relationships on behalf of the stores and develop them in to viable programs
Will have full ownership of and responsibility for event/initiative planning, execution and recap, including KPIs and other quantitative metrics that will be documented for ROI calculations and future auditing
Identify event and partnership opportunities to support integrated key driver campaigns and vendor co-op programs
Assist with on-site management of selling expos at marathons and other key events
Maintain a clear and proactive understanding of what our competitors are doing in local markets and at key events
Identify potential and additional Marketing sponsorship opportunities in assigned region.
Will have financial and budget responsibility, including monthly reforecasting and regular actual vs. budget analysis
Provide regular and comprehensive recap reports on event results and projections for upcoming events.
One to three years of previous event marketing or retail marketing experience (internships may be included)
Strong interest in and aptitude for event planning, partnership marketing and sponsorship activation
Demonstrated organizational, attention to detail and time management skills
Must be capable of multi-tasking and problem solving most times on the fly
Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
Outgoing with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and genuinely project a can do attitude
Travels extensively (locally and to other store regions)
Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel and PowerPoint
