As a domain expert with the Highland Consumer Fund, John will help to develop growth plans for different kinds of retail companies, and to provide guidance with location strategy and landlord negotiations.

Background

John has more than 35 years operations experience in the retail and retail real estate business, building hundreds of new stores for small start-ups and large companies. In the capacity of Director of Real Estate for The Home Depot and Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development for BJ’s Wholesale Club, John helped to reposition those chains at the real estate management level into retail leaders of their markets.

John is the founder of Roberts Realty Group, LLC, a shopping center owner and management company. Previously, as a Senior Vice President in the retail division of AMB Property Corporation, John was in charge of the acquisition and redevelopment strategies of 76 shopping centers nationwide.

John serves on the board of The Service Club of Andover as its current President, and on the Professional Center for Child Development as Vice Chair. He has served on many community boards and is active in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). John holds a Massachusetts Real Estate License.
