Metacafe Takes Online Video Entertainment Mobile With Nareos and Zed

Enables consumers to send favorite short videos to mobile devices

Palo Alto, CA - January 24, 2008 - Metacafe®, whose more than 28 million1 unique viewers each month make it one of the world’s largest video entertainment sites, is working with two global leaders in mobile content delivery to provide anytime, anywhere access to short-form video entertainment. Metacafe has integrated “Send to Mobile” functionality, from Nareos and Zed, which empowers entertainment enthusiasts to stream or download selected videos to their mobile devices.

Both Nareos and Zed offer a downloadable mobile application that enables instant access to videos – with just one click from the Metacafe site – making it quick, easy and convenient to enjoy entertainment on the go.

Nareos is currently enabling this capability for Metacafe viewers in Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, England, India and Sweden, and Zed is currently enabling this capability for Metacafe viewers in Spain and the U.S. Metacafe expects to extend “Send to Mobile” functionality to viewers in other markets in the coming months.

“People around the world are increasingly interested in accessing entertainment content on-the-go,” said Alexander Zaidelson, vice president of business development for Nareos. “Short-form videos like those on Metacafe are in especially high demand, as they offer a complete entertainment experience in a matter of minutes.”

“As the leading mobile content company, a collaboration between Zed and Metacafe, one of the leaders in Web 2.0 services, is the logical transition for expanding social networks to the mobile sphere,” said Javier Pérez Dolset, Founder and CEO of Zed.

“Extending the Metacafe entertainment experience to the mobile platform is the natural next step as we grow into a global media company focused on short-form video,” said Erick Hachenburg, CEO of Metacafe. “We’re pleased to be working with both Nareos and Zed in the first phase of this extension.”
