Waterloo, Ont. and Waltham, Mass. –
February 9th, 2009 – Metranome, a leading provider of mobile video
applications and services, and Quattro Wireless, mobile's trusted ad
network, today announced a partnership to deliver in-application
advertising into Metranome's Poptiq mobile video service.
Poptiq
offers smartphone and connected media player users a better way to
discover and watch video content that matches their personal interests
while on the go. By automatically downloading video over WiFi networks,
Poptiq allows users enjoy the benefits of higher video quality and an
"anytime, anywhere" viewing experience when compared to video streaming
over 3G networks. Poptiq is currently available for the iPhone and iPod
touch, with support for other mobile platforms arriving over the course
of 2009.
Quattro's dynamic ad serving technology has been
integrated into Poptiq's service delivery infrastructure, allowing
Metranome to seamlessly integrate CPM and CPC-based display ads
directly into the Poptiq application experience. Quattro and Metranome
will continue to evolve their collaboration to offer marketers advanced
targeting opportunities based on the geography, demographics, and
handsets of Poptiq users. As demand for mobile video advertising
continues to grow, Quattro and Metranome will also explore the
insertion of video advertising into Poptiq.
"We're pleased to be
working with Quattro as our lead partner for advertising in Poptiq",
said David Kruis, co-Founder and CEO of Metranome. "In addition to
their commanding position as a mobile ad network, Quattro is also a
respected technology visionary in this field. We're looking forward to
continuing our collaboration with them as we explore next-generation
mobile advertising techniques."
"Mobile video is growing and
Metranome is taking an early position to monetize it in Poptiq," said
Lars Albright, VP of Business Development of Quattro Wireless. "Quattro
enables Poptiq's interactive advertising experience by leveraging its
mobile ad platform within Poptiq's mobile video application, creating a
highly targeted opportunity for marketers and agency media buyers."
