Bit9 Partners with McAfee, Becomes Member of McAfee Sales Teaming Program

Waltham, MA - March 3, 2009 - Bit9, the pioneer and leader in enterprise application whitelisting, today announced it has been chosen by McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) to participate in the new McAfee Sales Teaming Program.

This invitation-only program is an expansion of the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA) and provides SIA partners with a more proactive and mutually rewarding selling model. Under the program, Bit9 and McAfee will work together to promote a joint solution -- Bit9 Parity for McAfee ePO.

Customers will benefit by being able to discover all software in real time and block all unauthorized applications, whether they are malicious, illegal, unlicensed or not approved by company policy. The solution gives organizations total control of their endpoints, providing better compliance and lower operational and IT investment costs.

"McAfee has been an exceptional partner and we are thrilled to have been chosen to participate in their Sales Teaming Program," said Doug Cahill, Bit9's vice president of business development. "Through our tight collaboration, we are able to deliver a comprehensive application control and whitelisting solution that allows our customers to reduce risk and achieve compliance and control of their endpoints."

McAfee has partnered with Bit9 to provide another layer of security and desktop control to its customers using the McAfee(R) ePolicy Orchestrator(R) (ePO(TM)). The ePO-integrated solution enables administrators to lock down and control which applications can be deployed on the endpoint. This "defense in depth" strategy improves security and compliance, lowers management costs, and prevents desktop configuration drift. More specifically, this integration allows administrators to:

--  Leverage the trusted ePO framework, workflow, and system hierarchy to
deploy the Bit9 Parity agent on endpoints
--  Use the Parity console to define application control policies that map
        to Active Directory data
--  Examine, by way of the Parity agent, all requests to deploy new
software, the software's publisher and its associated security
risks using the Bit9 Global Software Registry(TM), Bit9's
constantly updated database of trusted applications
--  Secure applications from exploits and other threats with McAfee Host
        Intrusion Prevention
--  Lock down endpoints with access control to prevent unauthorized changes
to files, folders, or network ports

McAfee Total Protection for Endpoints is the industry's most advanced endpoint security solution. Combined with Bit9's application whitelisting solution, it allows IT staff to better manage their endpoints, ranging from visibility of installed applications in open mode to full configuration control in lockdown mode.
