Company Selected Among Top Technology Products, Services, Vendors, Individuals for 2009

Westborough, - Mass. November 11, 2009 - ExaGrid Systems, Inc. (http://www.exagrid.com), the leader in cost-effective and scalable disk-based backup solutions with data deduplication, today announced that it has been selected as a winner of the Tech Awards Circle, taking Bronze in the Best Midrange Hardware category. Winners were selected by an independent circle of publication reviewers and journalists from nominations based on a broad range of achievements – including product and technology innovations, as well as talented executive leadership and engineering innovators.

Tech Awards Circle celebrates the products, services, vendors and individuals making a difference in the industry today. The winners represent a broad range of achievements, from hardware to software to services in consumer/SOHO, SMB, midrange, and enterprise markets. Gold, silver and bronze awards were given out in each category.

"Despite overwhelmingly strong competition, ExaGrid exhibited true industry excellence to be recognized among the top of the Tech Awards Circle," said Kevin Anderson, awards program coordinator. “Our judges were pleased at the level of submissions from all the vendors entering this year’s competition, so to be named a winner of this prestigious award is a testament to the quality and innovation unrivaled in the high tech community. We wish them continued success and look forward to them defending their title during the next awards period."

ExaGrid’s fast, highly scalable disk backup appliance with data deduplication allows changes to be stored from backup to backup instead of storing full data-sets, reducing the disk space required by a range of 10:1 to 50:1 or more and delivering unparalleled cost savings and performance. ExaGrid delivers extremely fast backup performance because data is written directly to disk and data deduplication is performed post-process after the data is stored. With ExaGrid, organizations can store a 1TB to 100TB full backup, plus retention, on a single scalable system.

"The recognition from Tech Awards Circle of ExaGrid’s product leadership validates our continued commitment to delivering the highest performance and most scalable disk backup solutions that also offer the best price/performance of any NAS-based disk backup system with deduplication available today," said Bill Hobbib, vice president of Marketing for ExaGrid. "Businesses continue to demand faster and more reliable data backups, fast disaster recovery, and low IT operational costs, and ExaGrid delivers these attributes in its best-in-class product, along with responsive, knowledgeable technical support."

ExaGrid's GRID architecture makes the system highly scalable. Different sized appliances can be mixed and matched into a virtualized GRID system with capacities of up to a 100TB full backup plus retention. Performance scales with data growth since processing power, memory, and bandwidth are added along with storage capacity, and data loads are automatically balanced across all servers.

About Tech Awards Circle
Tech Awards Circle was established this year to truly honor the 'best of the best' in technology. Tech Awards Circle is not affiliated with an analyst firm or a media company, both of which are directly supported by tech vendors through consulting relationships or advertising sales, so it is uniquely unbiased and immune to conflicts of interest. Entries are judged by an independent circle of journalists, including product reviewers, each with at least a decade of experience covering technology from consumer electronics to enterprise-class computing. To prevent these judges from being unduly influenced by vendors, they have agreed to remain anonymous. For more information or to be added to the mailing list please visit www.techawardscircle.com.
