Title Technical Writer

• Develop and maintain documentation such as Technical Reference Guides, System Design Guides, Product Specs, and Datasheets with an emphasis on chip and hardware documentation.

   

• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while working with a team of highly skilled engineers.

   

• As an integral part of cross-functional product teams, learn all aspects of the products by hands-on experience.

   

• Complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.

   

• Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content and methods of reproduction.

   

• Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts to illustrate materials and concepts.

   

• Create some diagrams, illustrations, and photographs as needed to integrate into final deliverables. Study industry journals and trends to ensure final documentation addresses market requirements and expectations and represents Calxeda product capabilities to the fullest extent possible.

   

• Assist development organization in testing and feedback of Calxeda products.

   

• As part of a small team of writers, work independently to produce high-quality deliverables, yet also work closely with other writers to ensure consistency across all docs.

   

• Contribute to the company Style Guide, Glossary, and Terminology table.

   

• 7+ years of experience in technical writing roles.

   

• Knowledge of chip/board design and operational concepts.

   

• An EE degree or similar would be a tremendous advantage.

   

• Knowledge of Linux and system interfaces and configurations a plus.

   

• Knowledge of server-system concepts and Data Center environments.

   

• Previous experience with an enterprise-level wiki, and managing permissions (groups and users) settings a plus.

   

• Knowledge and experience with basic writing concepts, such as information mapping and audience analysis.

   

• Self-starter with demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding milestones, schedules and expectations.

   

• Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to work closely with a very fast-paced engineering group.
