Allows Small Businesses, Service Providers, and Freelancers to Collect Payments Online Instantly

WePay, the hassle-free way to collect payments online, is releasing powerful upgrades to its invoicing tools today. The updates will provide small businesses, service providers, and freelancers with an easy, affordable, and customizable online invoicing tool. Users can register with WePay, send invoices (for free), and start collecting payments online in under a minute.

"We've enhanced our tools to help freelancers and small merchants accept payments online by sending professional-looking invoices without a ton of work or confusing, hidden monthly fees," said WePay co-founder and CEO Bill Clerico. "This is the first of many exciting updates for WePay this year. We're looking forward to helping even more people and businesses replace offline payments with online tools in 2012."

Representing a major update to the preceding 'Bills' feature on the WePay website -- a tool that is primarily used by individuals, groups and organizations, and friends for things like membership dues and shared expenses -- the new Invoice tool offers a more compelling solution for merchants. The updates allow users to customize color schemes, add company logos, set-up recurring invoices, and more.

There are no set-up fees or monthly fees, and invoices are free to send. WePay charges a 3.5 percent service fee for basic invoice payments, while premium-feature invoices with customization cost 6 percent. Merchants can absorb the fee or pass it to their customers by automatically adding it to the invoice amount.

Invoicing features:

  • Automatic payment and overdue reminders
  • Late fees
  • Recurring invoices
  • Invoice multiple recipients at once

With customizable emails, invoices and payments, merchants can now present their customers with an experience that matches their existing brand and style:

  • Define the color scheme
  • Embed a company logo
  • Send PDF copies of your invoices
