San Francisco – July 30, 2013 - Wooga today announced its publishing strategy that will see it partner with developers to publish high quality mobile games while also announcing its broadest cross-platform launch yet with Jelly Splash.
Wooga’s publishing strategy will focus on studios and titles that mirror its own highly polished free-to-play user experiences. Wooga will support published titles with the full heft of its internal resources while offering guidance on monetization and user experience. These services will be fully supported by Wooga’s current resources with no separate publishing department planned.
The first publishing deal sees Wooga partner with Danish developer, Tactile Entertainment. As publisher, Wooga will release ‘Airheads Jump’ for iPhone and Android smartphones and will take advantage of its established user base and experience to realize the game’s potential. The free-to-play endless jumper launches in September on iPhone and Android smartphones.
Jelly Splash was also announced by Wooga. Developed internally, the game combines arcade thrills with a simple yet deep puzzle mechanic. Jelly Splash will be released on iPhone & iPad on August 15th, followed shortly by an Android and Facebook.com version. The game will launch with 20 languages and will be synced across platforms with Facebook Connect. Jelly Splash is Wooga’s broadest and most rapid cross-platform release yet.
Jens Begemann, Wooga CEO and co-founder, was excited about the company’s announcements, “These announcements highlight Wooga’s positive growth in the last few years. Our publishing strategy allows us to promote impressive games that would otherwise struggle for attention in the competitive app market, while launching Jelly Splash across so many platforms and in such a short space of time is a great achievement by the whole team at Wooga”.
Tactile Entertainment CEO and founder, Asbjørn Søndergaard, commented on the partnership, “We’re confident that Wooga’s infrastructure and experience will allow Airheads Jump to get the visibility required for success in today’s app market. The collaborative approach we’ve had working with Wooga has been invaluable in preparing the game for launch, and we can’t wait to release it to the world”.
